TEMPORARY STRUCTURES

Design and Build a bespoke canopy offering vehicles protection from the weather when unloading

Venue: Amazon Man8, Haydock

Duration: 17 Months

Value: £220,000

Date: October 2020 – February 2022

A solution that kept Amazon’s highly technical sorting system from mechanical failure. Our bespoke canopy with 5m legs on one side and 4m legs on the other ensured the building was set level on a slope leading to the loading bay doors. Hundreds of Vans would pass through, underneath the canopy unloading their parcels to be sorted electronically for further despatch. Initially the structure was 30m wide by 40m long and 4m high to the eave which would enable high top vehicles to pass underneath. The trial was a success and the structure was extended to 95m long to increase unloading capacity.

Temporary or Semi-Permanent structures used for distribution as modular build warehouses, television workshops or film and tv ancillary buildings for costume department (wardrobe), Special Effects, Wood shop, Make Up, Catering or Socially distance dinning rooms, offices or sound stages or live streaming studios the uses are endless. Each of the structures offers different specifications to ensure your structure is built fit for purpose to suit your exact requirements.

The images below demonstrate many of the uses described above with a drive through canopy for unloading packages during bad weather, television and film studio support buildings, temporary warehouses for storage and catering facilities where diners are seated 2m apart to comply with covid19 regulations at the time. The semi-permanent buildings can be sited on to a temporary deck or directly on to the ground, windows, doors or roller shutters added, along with full interior fit outs from acoustic treatments to dividing walls, vinyl floors or carpets.
